Routine

Usually, lay guests visiting the monastery have many hours a day to practice and study meditation. In order to make the stay in the monastery as profitable as possible, it is preferred that guests have some previous meditation experience, or some exposure to Buddhist teachings.

Meal is served once a day, in the early morning. It is generally very complete and satisfactory by Thai standards.

The practice of meditation is done in the kuti or meditation dwelling that was asigned to each meditator. The instructor monk periodically makes visits to the guests in order to advice them on their practice or to answer any question or doubt that may have arisen.

Regarding the routine, a good rule of thumb while on a meditation retreat is to sleep little, speak little, eat little, but practice meditation a lot.
